Mumbai: Lalbaugcha Raja collection spurts to Rs 6.73 crore, auction on September 15 | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The earnings of the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganeshotsav Mandal rose significantly to Rs 6.73 crore on Wednesday from Rs 5.1 crore the previous day. Thursday’s offerings will be evaluated after visarjan.
Mandal treasurer Mangesh Dalvi said, “The updated cash donation figure increased to Rs 4.04 crore from Rs 3.35 crore Tuesday. Devotees donated a cumulative 4.64 kg of gold worth Rs 2.44 crore and 46.2 kg silver valued at Rs 25.41 lakh. The final count of the season will be released Sunday.”
The annual auction of the Lalbaugcha Raja’s gold-silver offerings will be conducted at 6.00pm September 15. Items include modaks, necklaces, finger rings, figurines of Lord Ganesh and ‘samai’ lamps.
The mandal has not reported a spectacular large ornament so far. In recent times, bidding is restricted to a single day unlike the three-day event of previous years.
