With the win, Mumbai Indians became the first IPL team to chase down 200 plus on four occasions in a season.

Mumbai Indians registered an 8-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad to stay in the playoff race in the Indian Premier League 2023. with 12 balls. Cameron Green lived up to the hype in the all-important clash and scored his maiden IPL century to set the stage on fire and give Mumbai a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

Apart from Green, skipper Rohit Sharma also scored a half-century to win the contest for Mumbai Indians. It was a below par performance from the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling and fielding as they were not disciplined with the ball and dropped some crucial catches as well.

With the win, Mumbai Indians became the first IPL team to chase down 200 plus on four occasions in a season.

Green hit eight fours and eight sixes during his unbeaten 100 off 47 balls. He added 53 runs for the third wicket with Suryakumar Yadav (25 not out) to take Mumbai over the line.

The MI skipper brought up his second half-century of this IPL off 31 balls and the stand for the second wicket with Green crossed the 100-run mark.

The MI skipper started the match 40 runs short of the 11k mark and did not waste much time in achieving the massive feat and became the 7th batsman to feature in the elite list.

The flamboyant opener also achieved the milestone of 5000 runs for Mumbai Indians, becoming only the second batsman in IPL history to achieve the feat for a single franchise after Kohli. Overall, he has scored 6192 runs in 241 IPL matches where the rest of his runs were scored for Deccan Chargers. Meanwhile Kohli continues to top the table with 7162 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
