Mumbai drug bust case: Court to pronounce verdict on Aryan Khan’s bail plea tomorrow

MumbaiA special NDPS court will pronounce its verdict on Thursday (October 20) on the bail plea of ​​Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, in the alleged rave party case. Last week, the court had reserved its order on the bail applications of Aryan and other accused in the case till tomorrow.

After hearing the arguments of NCB’s lawyers and the counsel for the accused, Special Judge VV Patil deferred the decision on the bail applications of Aryan and others till October 20.

The NCB told the court that though no drugs were recovered from Aryan during the raids, the star kid had narcotics as he was linked to Arbaaz Seth Merchant, from whom 6 grams of charas was recovered. Report in IANS.

The news agency report said that Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, representing the NCB, said that Aryan was not a first time consumer of drugs and there was evidence which shows that he has been taking drugs for the past few years.

What did Aryan Khan tell NCB officials during counselling?

A PTI report said that Aryan took a counseling session and promised to work for the welfare of the poor and not to indulge in any activity that would tarnish his name. The 23-year-old, while talking to the NCB officials during the counselling, said that he would not do anything that would give him negative publicity.

During the counseling of Aryan Khan, NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and social workers were present. An official told PTI, “He said- ‘I will do something that will make you proud of me.’

Why Aryan Khan was arrested?

The Narcotics Control Bureau raided a rave party on a luxury cruise on October 2. Aryan Khan, Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Seth Merchant and others were detained and later arrested in connection with the seizure of drugs. He was booked under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Aryan, Arbaaz and other male accused are currently in judicial custody at Mumbai’s Arthur Road Central Jail, while Munmun and another female accused have been sent to Byculla Women’s Jail.
