Mumbai: Amidst several vaccination scams, BMC releases list of private vaccine centres. Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: With several fake and dubious vaccination campaigns coming to the fore in the city, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has circulated a list of around 95 registered private immunization centers that are eligible for administration hit.
The civic body has also informed that in case of any doubt, the nodal officer appointed for each campaign should contact their ward wise room. Ward war rooms were set up by the BMC last year to help arrange hospital beds for Covid-19 patients who were unable to find them, especially when the second wave of the pandemic was at its peak.
The list of 95 centers includes all major hospitals in the city such as Bombay Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, HN Reliance Hospital, Breach Candy Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, Kokilaben Hospital, Fortis Hospital in Mulund, Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Holy Family Hospital and many other Nursing Homes.

The list of centers is attached along with several additional guidelines issued by the BMC as a part of its revised SOP for vaccination in housing societies and workplaces. One of them also said that it is the responsibility of the housing society to display the details about the date of vaccination, the name of private COVID-19 vaccination centers (PCVCs) engaged and the per dose charges on the society’s notice board.
“The details regarding MoU, PCVC engaged for vaccination, date of vaccination and fee per dose of vaccine are to be decided in the meeting of the executive committee of the society and the minutes of the meeting are to be maintained as and when asked by the competent authority. Goes,” states citizen circular.
Goregaon corporator Srikala Pillai said she is suddenly seeing crowds again at the civic immunization centres. “Even from tall buildings, many people are flocking to civic centres, fearing whether the camps being organized by private centers are genuine or not. The number of suspicious camps is increasing across the city,” Pillai he said.
Corporators have said that people are forced to look for private camps as vaccines are out of stock most of the time at BMC centres. BJP Corporator Atul Shah, who is coordinating a civic immunization center in the 160-year-old Madhav Bagh temple complex on CP Tank Road in Bhuleshwar, said that at ward level centres, the BMC is providing 100 vaccine doses daily.
“At a time when vaccination has started in civic centers for people aged 18 years and above, there is a very low dose. Many people are then forced to look for private centres,” Shah said.
