One thing is different in the 2017 manifesto of SP. In this, those things have been removed from the manifesto of 2012, on which Mulayam Singh Yadav used to insist. In fact, Mulayam launched the manifesto of 2012 and then said from the stage, “Akhilesh will work on these announcements within 6 months.”

Let us go through the 9 promises which were made by Mulayam Singh in the manifesto of 2012, but Akhilesh did not fulfill and have now been dropped from the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 1: Will not allow communal riots

What happened: In 2013, one of the worst riots took place in Muzaffarnagar. 62 people died and thousands were displaced. Apart from this, the Akhilesh government also failed to eliminate the mafia raj-goonda raj.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 2: Farmers’ loans will be waived, land encroachment will be removed

What happened: This scheme is applicable only for those who have already repaid 10% of the loan.

Now: In the manifesto of 2022, it is not clearly written about waiving old loans of farmers.

Mulayam’s promise 3: Will give reservation to minority children in medical studies

What happened: Akhilesh government could not give reservation to any minority child in medical studies.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 4: Separate 18% reservation for Muslims in proportion to population

What happened: The Akhilesh government failed to fulfill this promise.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.

Soft Promise 5: Innocent Muslim youths trapped in terrorist cases will be released. Will compensate them. The guilty officials will be punished.

What happened: No innocent Muslim was released under Akhilesh government.

Now: This promise is not included in the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 6: Unemployment allowance of Rs 12,000 per annum to the unemployed above 35 years of age.

What happened: In the Akhilesh government, unemployment allowance was distributed only in 2012-13 and 2013-14, then this scheme was discontinued.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 7: Will include 17 backward castes in the list of scheduled castes as soon as SP comes to power

What happened: Akhilesh could not do this work, although Yogi has fulfilled this promise of Mulayam in 2019.

Mulayam’s Promise 8: Will investigate allegations of corruption against former BSP ministers.

What happened: Most of the reports submitted by the Lokayukta remained pending with the Akhilesh government. Action was not taken on the vigilance report against the former ministers.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.

Mulayam’s Promise 9: Those whose parents earn less than Rs 5 lakh annually, their higher education fee will be waived off.

What happened: One such plan was already in place. Full expenses for higher education were given to children whose parents earned less than Rs 2 lakh. Akhilesh could not implement Mulayam’s plan.

Now: No such promise is included in the manifesto of 2022.
