According to sources, Prime Minister Modi has chosen more than 25 grassroots leaders of Dalit, Adivasi, OBC and backward areas for his cabinet.

It has been decided that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will expand his cabinet on 7th July i.e. Wednesday. The Modi government, which does almost every major work on auspicious time, has also decided to take oath for the new ministers. According to sources, the minister will take oath between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. During this Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed. Any work done in this is successful.

According to government sources, Prime Minister Modi has chosen more than 25 grassroots leaders from Dalit, Adivasi, OBC and backward areas for his cabinet. After much revision and deliberation, the names of the new ministers have been decided.

This expansion is very important for the Modi government right now. The monsoon session of Parliament begins on July 19 and new ministers will need time to mingle with their ministries. Apart from this, there are other reasons for this cabinet expansion.

Reason 1: Improving the quality of governance
In the second wave of Corona, the central government’s mismanagement was criticized everywhere. There was a lack of quality in governance. Be it smart city or cashless economy, none of Modi’s favorite projects are on track. Modi needs a more capable team at the top level.

Second reason: alleviating public dissatisfaction
There has never been such a decline in the economy as it is now. Apart from this, it is necessary to pacify the anger of the public on the prices of petrol and diesel. Employment opportunities are decreasing and the prices of food items are increasing, due to which people are also disappointed. In such a situation, there will be a need for a lot of capacity at the higher level within the government to handle the economy which has become directionless.

Reason 3: Balance of ability with ethnic and regional representation
Modi has to strike a balance of capable ministers with caste and regional representation in the cabinet. In order to increase the feel-good factor in the cabinet, it has become necessary to include new faces.

Fourth reason: To raise the morale of the party and leaders in the states
Since 2014, the Modi government has faced many victories and defeats. The enthusiasm of the BJP and its supporters has been badly affected after the humiliating defeat in the recently held assembly elections in Bengal. If capable people are included in the cabinet from amongst the MPs, then the morale of the party and its leaders will increase in the state from which the ministers have been included.

Fifth reason: The power of Modi and BJP will increase
Political tussle is going on in Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. The political power of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP will increase by giving a chance to power by including leaders in the cabinet on the basis of regional and caste arithmetic.

5 posts fell vacant after Thaawarchand became governor
The Modi government has already thrown the dice for expansion. A day before the oath of ministers, the way for cabinet expansion was opened by appointing 8 governors. With the appointment of Cabinet Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot as the Governor of Karnataka, 5 posts fell vacant in the cabinet.

Thaawarchand was the Social Justice Minister, a Rajya Sabha member and also the leader of the BJP in the same house. Apart from this, he was also a member of BJP’s most powerful Parliamentary Committee and Central Election Committee. After being sent to the constitutional post, he will have to leave all these posts.

Who will replace Thaawarchand in the BJP Parliamentary Board?
Now it will be interesting to see who replaces Thaawarchand in the parliamentary board. After the demise of Sushma Swaraj, there is space for a woman as well. Now the Modi government has to choose a Dalit and a woman face in the parliamentary board. Gehlot has three years remaining in the Rajya Sabha. This will also help Modi to include a new face in the cabinet who is not a member of either house.

BJP has a quota of 2 Rajya Sabha seats. One of these seats is likely to be given to former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. It has been decided that he will be included in the Modi cabinet. The BJP also has one seat in the Rajya Sabha from Pondicherry.

Apart from caste and faces in cabinet expansion, understand the balance of talent in 9 points…

  1. There is constant speculation about who will become a minister and who will not. At present there are 53 ministers in the Modi cabinet. He has 28 ministers vacant. Elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Himachal, Gujarat in 2021-22. It is expected that at least one face from the electoral states will definitely be included in the Modi cabinet.
  2. A Jat leader from Punjab and Brijraj Singh from Haryana can be sworn in.
  3. Sonowal from Assam, Jyotiraditya Scindia from Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister Narayan Rane from Maharashtra, Bhupendra Yadav from Rajasthan, Anupriya Patel from Uttar Pradesh and Pashupati Paras from Bihar are in the news and are believed to be almost certain.
  4. Former Assam Chief Minister Sonowal paved the way for Himanta Biswa Sarma to become the Chief Minister. His relations with Modi are also very good. He was also in the 2014 Modi cabinet before becoming the CM of Assam.
  5. Scindia may be rewarded for bringing BJP to power in Madhya Pradesh. Not only did he leave the Congress, but he also left his close friend Rahul Gandhi, with whom he had close family ties. Along with 22 MLAs were also brought and this led to the formation of BJP government in the state. His inclusion in the Modi cabinet will be historic. He is following in the footsteps of his grandmother Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia. He is also seen as a potentially capable minister with global appeal. He was also a very successful banker before joining politics. Apart from this, his inclusion in the cabinet will also hurt Rahul Gandhi and his leadership abilities.
  6. The name of Narayan Rane, who was once in Congress, is also fixed. He is also eager to become a minister at the Center for a long time. He is considered close to Amit Shah. However, his inclusion in the Modi cabinet may anger many BJP and Shiv Sena leaders in Maharashtra. Apart from this, there are also allegations of corruption against him. These allegations were made even when he was the revenue minister during the Congress government in Maharashtra.
  7. Pashupati Paras, who is now the new leader of LJP, may join the cabinet from JD-U quota. Apart from him, BJP MP from Odisha and former IAS Ashwini Vaishnav can also be made a minister. It is also being said that he can be entrusted with the Minister of State for Finance or some other important responsibility. He is a graduate from IIT. He has an MBA from Wharton and has also been an entrepreneur. Apart from this, he has also worked in the PMO during Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He was also close to Vajpayee.
  8. It is also discussed that talks were also going on with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy regarding the expansion of the cabinet, although no result has been revealed yet.
  9. The ministers whose portfolios will get most of the new faces are Hardeep Puri, Narendra Singh Tomar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Smriti Irani. They all have more than one ministry.
