Taking lessons from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s action against the perpetrators, the Madhya Pradesh government continued to deal vigorously and on Sunday demolished three houses of accused in a gang rape case in Sheopur.
The administration team, assisted by local police, bulldozers into three houses and standing crops of the three accused, Collector Sheopur said in a tweet accompanying the video of the demolition.
The three accused – Mohsin, Riyaz and Shahbaz – were arrested on March 17 for the gang-rape of a 17-year-old tribal girl.
The administration swung into action after getting orders from Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan earlier in the day and demolished the houses of the accused arrested in a sexual harassment case. Heavy police force was deployed in the village to maintain law and order.
After reaching the nearby Polytechnic College of the administration, the team destroyed the wheat crop standing in the field of one of the accused in the case.
The action came two days after the minor girl along with her male friend had gone to the forest area near Rampura Dang locality. The three accused showed them the way, threatened the male friend and raped the girl before fleeing from the spot. Later the girl went to the police station and accused the three youths of raping her. A case was registered under the POCSO Act and all three were arrested soon after.
Separately, Chief Minister Chouhan had ordered the demolition of the houses of criminals who openly violated law and order in Bhopal, Indore and several other districts.
