Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi said that on the basis of secret information received on Monday night, the crime branch team raided an eatery on the Gwalior-Dabra highway on Tuesday.

Copies of NHM nurse exam paper were found from the possession of eight people present inside, he said.

Original documents of 80 candidates have also been recovered from them. These documents were allegedly ‘pledged’ with the accused.

The SP said that if the leaked questions actually figure in the exam, the candidates who have received the leaked papers will have to pay the accused and get back their documents.

Along with this, 39 mobile phones have also been seized.

The SP said it was suspected to be part of a larger recruitment exam paper leak racket.

Among those arrested, three are from Gwalior, two each from Prayagraj and Haryana and one from Bihar.

Sanghi said that the kingpin, a resident of Prayagraj, was absconding.

The gang charged around two to three lakh rupees for the question paper.

The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for cheating in addition to the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examination Act and Information technology Act, he said.
