Rajesh Kannoje, a primary school teacher under the state’s tribal affairs department in Kansaya, was suspended on November 25, a day after participating in the yatra. The matter came to light after his suspension order surfaced on social media.

“Kanoje was suspended for violating service conduct rules and participating in a political rally. NS Raghuvanshi, assistant commissioner of the tribal affairs department, said she had sought leave citing important work, but she posted pictures on social media after attending a political event.

According to the order, Kannoje violated service conduct rules by participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra organized by a political party on November 24.

Meanwhile, state Congress media department president KK Mishra said in a tweet that the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has allowed employees to attend Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) shakhas, but Rajesh Kannoje, a tribal, was given a ‘teer-kaman’. ‘ is suspended for giving.
