Movement against Sector 47 Namaz suspended for the time being. Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurgaon: Protest Friday prayers in the open Sector 47 Has been suspended for the time being.
The decision was taken after a meeting of residents with the Deputy Commissioner, who assured them of a solution by Diwali.
For the past few weeks, people had been objecting to Friday prayers in the open by singing bhajans and at the same time performing Durga aarti near the grounds.
They were shouting slogans like “Namaz ki jag khaali karo” and “Bharat mata ki jai”, prompting the police to relocate the congregation to the same land, about 300 meters away.
On Monday, a group of residents led by Sector 47 RWA president Sunil Yadav met deputy commissioner Yash Garg and urged him to shift the site for prayers.
“He listened to our complaints and promised to resolve the issue in the next few weeks. Then they asked us to postpone our protest,” Yadav said, adding that he has decided to give the administration time till Diwali to find a solution.
Local councilor Kuldeep Yadav, who was also participating in the protest, said he had requested the administration to find an alternative site. “The administration can provide them a place in a non-residential area,” he said.
Members of the Muslim community have termed the protest an “attempt to gain political mileage” by some. “Not all those protesting are residents. Politicians are also confused. “You cannot use religion as a tool to obstruct the prayers of another community,” said Altaf Ahmed, co-founder of Gurgaon Nagrik Ekta Manch.
