More than 49.85 crore vaccine doses provided to states, union territories: Center India News – Times of India

New Delhi: More than 49 crores covid doses of vaccines have been provided to statesThe Union Health Ministry on Tuesday informed that 2.75 crore unused doses are still available from among the Union Territories.
So far, more than 49.85 crore (49,85,51,660) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs through all sources and further 20,94,890 doses are in the pipeline.
Out of this the total consumption including wastage is 47,52,49,554 doses (as per data available at 8 am today).
More than 2.75 crore (2,75,88,573) remaining and untapped COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states, UTs and private hospitals to be administered.
As part of the nationwide immunization drive, the central government is supporting the states and union territories by providing them with free COVID vaccines.
in the new phase of globalization of COVID-19 Immunization campaign, the government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to the states and union territories.
The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination began on 21 June 2021.
