More than 25 thousand cases were reported in India in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest in 160 days.

Corona Update: India has registered 25,072 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry said that in the last 24 hours, 44,157 patients have been cured of corona virus in the country and 389 people have died in the country.

The country has recorded the lowest number of new COVID cases in 160 days and active cases account for 1.03% of the total cases, the lowest since March 2020.

India’s recovery rate has increased to 97.63% which is the highest since March 2020.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra on Sunday recorded 4,141 fresh Covid-19 infections and 145 deaths, taking the state’s tally of coronavirus cases to 6,424,651 and the death toll to 135,962.

According to the Health Ministry report, Mumbai’s Covid tally reached 741,164, with 294 infections leading to 15,947 deaths and one death on Sunday. This was the first time since March 2020, when the pandemic first broke out last year, when the metropolis reported only one Covid-19 fatality.

On Sunday, 167,881 Kovid tests were conducted in the state, while the number of cured people was 4,780. The total number of active patients currently in Maharashtra is 53,182, including Pune at 12,069 followed by Thane at 6,980 and Satara at 6,974. Pune has reported 18,853 Covid-19 deaths, the state has the highest number of Mumbai- 15,947 and Thane-11,237.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu continued to report a decline in the number of daily cases as the state added 1,630 fresh infections on Sunday, taking its tally to 26,00,885. A medical bulletin said that 23 people have succumbed to the disease so far, taking the death toll to 34,709. With 1,827 people being discharged in the last 24 hours, healthy people have assumed new infections, taking the total to 25,47,005, leaving 19,171 active infections. A total of 1,55,607 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of samples tested so far to 4.09 crore.
