More than 14 lakh people got vaccine dose in Maharashtra, highest in a day

Maharashtra administered the dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 14,39,809 persons on Wednesday, the highest in a single day, a senior official said. Dr Pradeep Vyas, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Department said, “This is the highest figure achieved by the state so far.

A total of 6.55 crore vaccine doses have been administered in Maharashtra so far and 1,79,78,805 people have been fully vaccinated (received both doses), he said. On September 4, the state had administered 12,27,224 jabs, a record broken on Wednesday.

48.46 per cent people above 18 years of age in the state have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines. In the 18-44 age group, 37.88 percent took at least one dose, while 52.24 percent in the 45-plus age group took at least one dose.
