The election for the post of Vice President will be held on 6 August and he will assume office on 11 August.
The monsoon session of Parliament will begin from July 18 and will continue till August 12, the Parliament Secretariat announced on Thursday. This session will have 18 sittings and it will probably be the last sitting in the existing Parliament House.
The election for the President of India will be held on the first day of the monsoon session, followed by counting of votes on July 21. The new President will be administered the oath of office on July 25 in the Central Hall of Parliament. The election for the post of Vice President will be held on 6 August and he will assume office on 11 August.
