Money Heist Korea Teaser Out: Yu Ji-tae Debuts as Professor, Park Ha-soo as Berlin; meet the whole cast

The teaser for the Korean adaptation of Money Heist has been released. Titled Money Heist: Korea – United Economic Zone, the Netflix series stars Yu Ji-tae as Professor. The actor is best known for his work in projects such as Saat Days, Ode to My Father, Lost and Mistress. The teaser begins with the mastermind controlling his plan from a dirty room. Laptops and other equipment are spread out on the table while Yu Ji-tae’s back is towards the camera.

Then he turns to the wall with many masks. While the iconic Dali mask is seen, the Korean adaptation includes some other masks as well. Yu Ji-tae takes a step closer to the wall and reaches for a mask. The teaser also features Kim Eun-jin as Investigating Officer Woo Jin, who is trying to find out about the Professor’s plan to steal. She is seen filling the shoes of Raquel Murillo.

Tees features Berlin as Park Hee-soo, Tokyo as Joon Jong-seo, Moscow as Lee Won-jong, Denver as Kim Ji-hun, Nairobi as Jang Eun-joo, Ryo in Lee Hyun-woo, Kim Helsinki as Ji-hoon and Oslo as Lee Kyu-ho. The series is directed by Kim Hong-sun.

Money Heist, formally known as La Casa de Papel, was a Spanish series that ran for five seasons. The series revolves around two robberies, one at the Royal Mint of Spain, and one on the Bank of Spain, and narrated by Tokyo, played by Ursula Corbero. The most recent season ended in 2021.

The Korean adaptation of Money Heist was announced in 2020. Speaking about the adoption of the show by the Korean entertainment industry, the Money Heist creator told Variety, “Korean producers have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture over the years. They, like our series, try to go beyond cultural boundaries and try to make a difference. Has managed to become a reference point for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people.”
