Madhya Pradesh Election Results

Securing a commanding majority of 163 out of 230 assembly seats, the BJP swept the Madhya Pradesh elections, confining the Congress to just 66 seats while the BSP failed to win any. The elections were a significant test, not only for the BJP at the central level but also for Jyotiraditya Scindia, who with 21 MLAs, played a pivotal role in toppling the Kamal Nath government and supporting Shivraj Singh Chouhan to form the new government.

The election results seemed to answer questions regarding Scindia’s influence and Chouhan’s appeal, as the voters put their trust in the BJP. The Ladli Behna initiative, a flagship policy of the Shivraj government in Madhya Pradesh, is said to have played a substantial role in the party’s success.
