It is from 1982-83. Many youths including SP Singh Baghel got jobs in Uttar Pradesh Police. I was one of them. Both of us took the training of Sub Inspector in Police Training College Moradabad. The passing out parade was held in Moradabad on 31 December 1983. On 16 January 1984, Baghel’s first posting took place in Meerut and in that too he got the responsibility of the most VIP police station, Civil Line.

Since then, Baghel’s dominance in the police career has been increasing every day. The command of the investigation of the 1987 riots was also handed over to Baghel. When the police department sent him from Meerut for special duty of 3 months to Lucknow, duty was imposed in the security of the Chief Minister there. This is where his political career started.

In 1988, his 3 months duty was imposed in Lucknow. Stayed in LIU (Local Intelligence Unit) for some time in Lucknow and after that his duty was put in the security of the Chief Minister. At first he was under the protection of Chief Minister ND Tiwari. After that he was the PSO of the then Chief Minister Vir Bahadur Singh in 1988 and again in 1989 to the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. After which he became closest to Mulayam Singh. It was from here that he made his political debut and became an MP. After being a minister in the Yogi government of the state, now he has got a new responsibility in the central government.

SP Singh Baghel did his MA in Defense from Meerut College. After this, he did his PhD in Military Science under Dr. Somnath Mishra from Meerut College itself. After resigning from the police department, he became a professor at Agra College. From here his political journey got more momentum. On 9 December 1989, she arranged an arranged marriage with Madhu, a resident of Sardhana, Meerut.
