Modern Love’s success and acclaim raises hopes for season 2

The second season of Modern Love, the Amazon Prime anthology based on the New York Times column is all set to release on August 13. The new season, created by Big Again fame John Carney, promises to bring more romance, drama, fun and tears. to our life. The second season also stars a bunch of other talented actors, including Anna Paquin, Kit Harington, and Garrett Hedlund.

Needless to say, expectations are high for Modern Love Season 2, and that’s entirely because Season 1 turned out to be an unexpectedly beautiful one. First, there was the talented ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, Tina Fey, Kristin Milotti, and Andrew Schutt, who brought audiences to the show. However, what made them stick together were the stories, and the way they were told.

Of course, the stories of Modern Love are real, about real people with flaws and flaws. The jaggedness of the characters was different from the start. The first (my favorite) episode was ‘When the doorman is your main man’ where a young girl in town develops a bond with her doorman. Starring Kristin Milotti and Laurentiu Posa, this episode told us how friendships can flow out of impossible places if you give people a chance. After watching the show, most of the people wanted to have a friend like Guzmin.

While some episodes were better than others, each story brings out some unique part of human nature. A popular episode was ‘When Cupid is a Preying Journalist’ starring Dev Patel and Katherine Keener. It was a story about love, heartbreak, and forgiveness that people could really relate to.

Then there was ‘Here Was a World of One’ where a lesbian couple seeking to adopt a child takes an eccentric pregnant woman into their lives. This episode explains how first impressions are often wrong in judging people. Another beautiful episode was ‘The Race Grows Sweeter Near Its Final Lap’, in which two seniors find love at a later stage of life. It was the final episode that connected all the strings, making the show so much more than it looked like.

However, perhaps the most influential and important story was ‘Take me as I am, whoever I am.’ It told the story of Rebecca, a bipolar woman who struggles to find love because of it. Anne Hathaway’s performance in this episode was so impressive and the show did an impressive job of showing the dichotomy with a human and sensitive lens.

Though the trailer of Modern Love Season 2 doesn’t reveal much, it will be interesting to see if it manages to live up to the expectations of the previous season. Even though the first season wrapped up the stories well, it will be fun to see more stories intertwining life in New York City.
