With the conclusion of the final leg of voting in Telangana, all eyes are now on the polling results, which will be declared on Sunday, December 3. But before the final assembly election results, voters need to look at what the exit poll predictions say for their state.

The voting for the Mizoram legislative assembly took place on November 7. The 40-member assembly includes 39 seats reserved for scheduled tribes and 1 general seat. A total of 8.52 lakh electors were eligible to vote for the single-phase state assembly elections.

MAJOR POLITICAL PARTIES AND ALLIANCES

A total of 174 candidates were in the fray for the Mizoram assembly polls. The nominees represent five major political parties and 27 independents.

The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), the main opposition party Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), and the Congress had fielded 40 nominees each. The MNF fielded 25 incumbent legislators, while six sitting MLAs were among the ZPM candidates.

The BJP nominated 23 candidates, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) who made its electoral debut in Mizoram, is contesting in four seats.

MIZORAM ELECTION 2018 RESULT

In the 2018 assembly polls, Mizo National Front (MNF) got a majority by winning 26 seats, while the Congress remained the second largest party in Mizoram in terms of vote share and managed to get 5 seats. The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) candidates contested as independents and got 6 seats.
