Hollywood star Tom Cruise has jumped out of a plane once again, but this time he has hit the troposphere to thank ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ fans. “Everyone, here we are in amazing South Africa, and we’re filming parts one and two of ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,'” Cruise yells to a camera over the blaring ambient sound of a plane whistle. Variety’s report. “I didn’t want the year to end and thank you all for coming out to theaters, and thank you for supporting ‘Top Gun: Maverick.'”

A little over 20 seconds in, the camera pans out to reveal Christopher McQuarrie, who returns to the “Mission: Impossible” series to run “Dead Reckoning.” McQuarrie also wrote “Top Gun: Maverick” and produced the action feature with Cruise and David Ellison. McQuarrie also thanked fans of the “Top Gun” franchise before turning his attention to Cruise: “Hey, listen, we really got to roll. We got to get this shot.”

Cruise points a finger at McQuarrie, smiling, before jumping out of the plane with possibly a cameraman. With his entire body extended into a starfish position to brace against air resistance, Cruise turns his attention back to the camera and resumes his speech.

“As always, thank you for allowing us to entertain you. It truly is the honor of a lifetime. I’m passing out, so I have to get back to work. We have to get this shot.” You have a very safe and happy holiday. We’ll see you in the movies,” concluded Cruise, before whisking off into the wind blowing out to sea.

‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ will see the return of Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Czerny, among many other franchise veterans.

The official trailer sees Cruise in several action-packed scenes, such as a nightclub fight, a chase on top of a moving train, and of course, lots of falls.

‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ will be released in theaters on July 14, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. The sequel, ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two’ is currently set to release on June 28, 2024.
