Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt The starrer ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ is celebrating eight years of its release. The film marked the Bollywood debut of late actor Siddharth Shukla in a supporting role. Varun, who plays Rakesh “Humpty” Kumar Sharma in the film, shared a few pictures on his Instagram story on Monday, which also featured actress Alia, who played Kavya Pratap Singh and Sidharth, who was seen in the film. He also posted a lengthy post detailing how things have changed in the last eight years since the release of the film.
“8 years of #Hskd…at times it feels like tomorrow and sometimes another life…a lot has happened in just 8 years…Varun got married. Karan had kids. I had one Had a baby. Alia is married and is going to have a baby. Many of my HODs who were kids then, are kids now… ok baby talk. Raj and Bhanu became film directors. We fought through covid. Siddhartha Shukla left us for a better place,” he wrote.
“As I write this post, I am on Reiki for my next film. My heart is filled with gratitude. Thank you Karan for the continued trust in me. You have really given me the wings to fly. Potato you so much.” Flying high, makes me so happy and proud. Wishing you all the best in all the new roles,” he shared for Alia and added a note for Varun. “VD my brother my friend. The film also starred Ashutosh Rana, Deepika Amin, Gaurav Pandey and Sahil Vaid in supporting roles. The first film in the franchise, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”, opened in 2014. In 2017, the second part titled “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” was released. Alia and Varun starred in both the films, although the stories had no connection.
