‘Miss Her Presence Greatly’: PM Modi Pays Tribute To ‘Friend’ Ram Vilas Paswan

PM paying tributes to Dalit leader and founder of Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas Paswan on his birth anniversary Narendra Modi On Monday, he said that his contribution in public service and empowerment of Dalits will always be remembered.

Paswan, who was a minister in the Modi government, died in October last year. He was among the most experienced parliamentarians and had served as a minister in governments led by various parties, from socialist groups to the Congress and the BJP.

In a tweet, Modi said, “Today is the birth anniversary of my friend Late Ram Vilas Paswan ji. I miss his presence very much. He was one of the most experienced parliamentarians and administrators of India. His contribution to public service and empowering the downtrodden. The contribution will always be remembered.”

Paswan’s death has triggered factionalism within his party and both his son Chirag Paswan and his brother Pashupati Kumar Paras claim to represent the LJP. Chirag is about to begin his journey from his father’s traditional Lok Sabha seat, Hajipur, to rally party supporters in his favour.
