Mirzapur Actor Shahnawaz Pradhan Dies After Suffering Heart Attack at Award Function, Rajesh Tailang Mourns Loss

New Delhi: Actor Shahnawaz Pradhan, a popular face in the Hindi film industry, breathed his last on Friday (February 17). According to multiple reports, the 56-year-old Pradhan apparently suffered a heart attack and fell unconscious, following which he was immediately taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The actor was present at an award function when he complained of chest pain and collapsed. He acted in several films and television shows including the hit web-series ‘Mirzapur’, ’24’ and ‘Byomkesh Bakshy’. He also appeared in brief roles in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Phantom’.

Actor Rajesh Tailang, who worked with Pradhan in ‘Mirzapur’, confirmed the report and paid his final tribute to the actor on social media. He shared a note writing, “Shahnawaz bhai aakhiri salaam !!!


Actor Yashpal Sharma also condoled his demise, writing, “Attended the event in Mumbai today… Everything was going great… Ridge Dime Darrell ji and hundreds of artistes were present but to receive the award Shortly after, our dear artist Shahnawaz had a stroke… The entire program was halted and with the help of people and doctors he was taken to Kokilaben Hospital which was the nearest but no one could save him and he passed away.


In the first season of Prime Video’s hit show Mirzapur, Shahnawaz Pradhan played the role of father to Golu (Shweta Tripathi Sharma) and Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar). According to Indian Express, his last rites will be held in Mumbai on Saturday.
