Mirasdar was popular for various forms of writing, especially comic writing. He also wrote dialogues, screenplays for Marathi films. He teamed up with Venkatesh Madgulkar and Shankar Patil, both renowned writers, to form a trio that enthralled Marathi readers with their stories.
Some of his writings touch on serious social issues. Among his popular works were Vyankuchi Shikavani, Majya Bapchi Pend, Shivaji’s signature, Bhutacha born, Maji Pahili Chori and Harvalyacha research. The collection of his comic works is very popular among the Mirasdari readers.
He also acted in the film Ek Dao Bhootcha, for which he also wrote the screenplay and story.
He was also the President of All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. during his life. He received many awards, including the Jeevan Gaurav Award from the Government of Maharashtra.
Mirasdar was a schoolteacher and later also taught in a college and worked in the field of journalism.
He has over 24 storybooks and has written screenplays for 18 moves. His story ‘Bhootcha Janam’ is part of the Marathi syllabus of class XII.
