Minor gang raped in Jharkhand’s Garhwa, three arrested

A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Jharkhand’s Garhwa district. The incident took place in the garage of the motorcycle on the main road of Kandi police station area. The three accused – garage owner Vijaymal Kumar (32) and two of his friends Rishi Kumar (25) and Avinash Mehta (28) have been arrested by the police. He was sent to judicial custody on Monday. Police said that two of the three accused are married.

The girl told the police that when she was going to her friend’s house a man came and forced her to sit on his bike. Then he took her to a garage where two other men were already present. She was gang-raped by three men at a motorcycle repairing shop.

The accused had locked the garage from inside, but when they came to know that a crowd had gathered outside, they fled from the spot through the back door. The local people asked the victim to open the gate of the shop after which she was saved.

SHO Nitish Kumar said the three men were traced with the help of their mobile locations and sent to judicial custody by a local court. Kumar said the minor girl has been sent to a government hospital in Garhwa for medical examination.

In another incident, the case of Dar’s attempt was recently reported from Garhwa district.

A 36-year-old married woman has filed a police complaint against a man. The woman said that the man who had earlier tried to molest her entered her house on June 30 and tried to sexually assault her. The woman also alleged that when her daughter tried to save her, the accused also touched the girl’s private parts.

Accused Rajendra Kumar fled when the woman shouted for help, while the locals tried to nab her. Kumar was arrested the next day, and the police found that he had previously been warned by the local panchayat for his past actions.
