Milind Soman’s Captain Vyom to return with a modern-day twist? here’s what we know

Captain Vyom – The Sky Warrior made great strides with science-fiction themes in the late ’90s. Originally aired on Doordarshan, the brilliant Ketan Mehta creation was directed by model-actor Milind Soman.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Brewing Thoughts Pvt Ltd (BTPL), a newly established production house which is working on the much-awaited Shaktimaan trilogy with Sony Pictures International Productions, has managed to get its hands on the adaptation/remake rights. From the universe. The rights include a five-part feature film franchise consisting of an equal number of web series.

Much to the excitement of Gen-Z Fantasy, Ketan Mehta confirmed the news. He said, “I am really curious. For me Captain Vyom is the superhero of Indian origin for a global audience. And it is time to re-invent when India is dreaming of its place in the new century. I look forward to our partnership with BTPL to take Vyom into the millennium. I hope and wish that this superhero soars to new heights and faraway lands. Together with the intergalactic space adventure, this franchise can be the perfect platform to showcase the best of VFX and CGI talent from our country.

As per a report in the entertainment portal, BTPL is planning to draw inspiration from famous and iconic Hollywood sci-fi masterpieces like Star Wars, Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy. Since the genres of space and science-fiction have remained largely untouched in the Indian framework, filmmakers are overly enthusiastic and enthusiastic about dipping their toes in the water. As per reports, the makers have already received three-four lucrative offers from top studios, OTT platforms for a co-production deal for this ambitious franchise.

One thing is certain though. This is probably the best time to try a space/sci-fi superhero adventure in our country. Also, it feels great that we are re-living our childhood days – the 90s – through our planned adaptation of Doordarshan’s hit shows like Shaktimaan and Captain Vyom etc. ,

Originally, production for this franchise was to begin in 2020. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the plans got delayed. But when things start to calm down, the creators are ready to go ahead with it.
