The company last week announced a new version of Bing—powered by a more advanced version of OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 language model. While the new Bing is only available to select users for now, it’s already garnered a lot of interest, with one million people signing up on a waiting list to try it out in just 48 hours.

Mehdi and Microsoft President and CEO Satya Nadella announced the new Bing last week. Microsoft introduced its new Bing powered by “next-generation” ChatGPT artificial intelligence (AI), and also updated its Edge browser with new AI capabilities.

The tech giant said the AI-powered Bing search engine and Edge browser are now available for preview on Bing.com to deliver “better searches, more complete answers, a new chat experience and the ability to generate content”.

According to the company, these tools act as “AI co-pilots for the web”.

With the new Bing, users get an enhanced version of the standard search experience. The updated search engine is powered by the next generation OpenAI large language model which is more powerful than ChatGPT.

It provides more relevant results for common queries such as sports scores, stock prices and weather, as well as a new sidebar that displays additional in-depth information when users need it.

Microsoft also announced that it has updated the Edge browser with new AI capabilities and a new look.
