Microsoft Education Innovation Summit begins with the first phase in UP to build a futuristic learning ecosystem

Microsoft India along with Ernst & Young and Illets Technomedia has launched the first edition of the Education Innovation Summit. The Education Innovation Summit seeks to bring together education influencers and parliamentarians across India to facilitate a dialogue on education transformation in the country, using technology to create a futuristic learning ecosystem. The summit will open a dialogue on the role of technology in transforming education, improving learning outcomes and better preparing students across India for the new world of work.

The first phase of the summit was held in Uttar Pradesh today. Education influencers and public sector officials from across the state discussed the need to transform every classroom into a modern virtual classroom across the state, helping students receive world-class education irrespective of geographic and linguistic barriers or accessibility needs . Initiating these discussions, Microsoft shared its commitment to partner with the state to provide the technology and tools needed to accelerate digital growth, empowering learners and teachers to achieve more.

The event was attended by Shri Satish Chandra Dwivedi, Minister of Basic Education, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh including senior government and public sector officials. Of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rishirendra Kumar, (IAS), Special Secretary, Department of IT & Electronics and Managing Director, Uptron Powertronics, Ltd. Corporation, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, and Mr. Kumar Vineet, Special Secretary, Department of IT and Electronics and Managing Director, UPDESCO and Sheetron India Limited, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Other speakers included Amit Pawar, Education Solutions Lead, Devices and Platforms at Microsoft Asia Pacific, Navtej Bal, Executive Director Public Sector at Microsoft India, Dr Vini Johri, Director, Education Advocacy at Microsoft India, Dr Avantika Tomar, Executive Director at Ernst. & Young, and Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Illets Technomedia.

The event discussed topics including bridging the digital learning divide, bringing to life the National Education Policy 2020, the role of ICT training in schools to lay the foundation for the future of learning, and the Microsoft Technology Center Showcase.
