Michelle Obama Blasts Donald Trump, Calls Him ‘Misogynistic’

Chicago: In one of the sharpest attacks on Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the upcoming Presidential elections in the United States, former First Lady Michelle Obama criticized the former President as ‘Ugly, Misogynistic, Racist’.

Speaking at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, Michelle Obama delivered a passionate speech and slammed Trump by saying that “no one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American.” “If we see a mountain in front of us, we don’t expect there to be an escalator waiting to take us to the top,” she added.

‘Ugly, Misogynistic, Racist’

Interestingly, Michelle Obama’s remark came in response to Trump’s recent jibe directed at US Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ background as a child of immigrants.

During her speech, Michelle Obama went all guns blazing at Trump, using his name to criticize what she called his “ugly, misogynistic, racist lies.”

“For years, Donald Trump did everything in his power to try to make people fear us. His limited, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hard-working, highly educated successful people who happen to be Black,” she was quoted as saying by CNN.

‘Harris ‘Most Qualified’ To Seek The US Presidency’

Hailing Harris as “one of the most qualified people” to seek the US presidency”, she said, “Even though our mothers grew up an ocean apart, they shared the same belief in the promise of this country. That’s why her mother moved here from India at 19.”

The former US Lady recounted Kamala Harris’ days as a student at Howard University and law school later.

She said, “And then she went on to work for the people…from a middle-class household, Kamala worked up to become vice president of the United States of America. My girl Kamala Harris is more than ready for this moment. She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency.”

Earlier, upon reaching the stage, the audience met Michelle Obama with a standing ovation before discussing the “contagious power of hope” and asserting that the nation is on “the cusp of a brighter day.”

“America, hope is making a comeback,” she said while speaking on the second day of the Democratic National Convention

In her fiery speech, Michelle said that of the two major candidates in this race, “only Kamala Harris truly understands the unseen labour and unwavering commitment that has always made America great.”

“For years, Donald Trump did everything in his power to try to make people fear us,” Michelle said. “By the way — Who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those “Black jobs?’” she said to audience applause.

Barack Obama Backs Kamala Harris

Speaking after his wife Michelle, former US president Barack Obama also delivered a keynote speech urging Americans to back Kamala Harris in her presidential bid against Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The former US president recalled that Harris in her capacity as the attorney general of California had stood up for children who had been victims of sexual abuse. “Kamala Harris is ready for the job,” Obama said noting that she fought big banks and for-profit colleges, “securing billions of dollars for the people they have scammed”.

Further taking a swipe at Donald Trump, Obama said that the US didn’t “need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos.”

“Here’s a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped talking about his problems since he rode down on his golden escalator nine years ago,” Obama said while blasting Trump.

“We have seen that movie before, and we all know that the sequel is usually worse,” Obama said adding that “America is ready for a new chapter. America is ready for a better story. We are ready for a President Kamala Harris.”

In his speech, Obama also praised Joe Biden and said that choosing the latter his as his vice president in 2008 was one of the best “big” decisions he made during his candidacy.

The upcoming US presidential election on November 5 will see Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, following Biden’s endorsement. Harris has garnered substantial support within the party and secured enough delegates for the nomination.
