MI Team Preview IPL 2022 – Mumbai Indians to establish dominance again

Mumbai Indians made a slow start to their IPL journey but were demolished once they did whatever it takes to be successful as they went on to become the most successful time in the history of the league. MI’s backroom staff have carefully planned retention, auction strategies and player development over the past 14 years, but they must have faced heartburn as they had to replace all of their squads with the exception of four ahead of the mega auction in February this year. The members had to leave.

Keeping in mind skipper Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, batsman Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Kieron Pollard, MI made it clear that they are going to build their new team around these four legends. So how did he do it? Do they have a team to challenge for the record-expanding sixth IPL trophy?

Let’s see

Strength

Experience. The quadrant of Rohit, Pollard, Suriya and Bumrah is very experienced. He has done and seen it all. Be it international or franchise, they have been in pressure-cooker situations. And regularly win matches in such conditions. Add to this the youthful enthusiasm of Ishaan Kishan and the rising Devald Brevis, the Mi looks to be a sharp entity.

In the bowling department, they have world-class Bumrah as the leader of their attack, they will have the support of Tymal Mills (death overs specialist), Jaydev Unadkat (new ball striker) and all-rounder Daniel Sams.

And captain Rohit should not be forgotten. He has won the Mi Five titles. He is also leading India in all formats. enough said. His lead certainly adds an extra player to his eleven.

weakness

Their spin department looks a bit thin in terms of quality. They have been plagued by this disease in recent years. Murugan Ashwin is expected to lead the spin attack and will be accompanied by Mayank Markande and Fabian Allen.

However, none of this can be compared to some of the other IPL franchises in their own spin departments. They’ll need all three to step up and close this huge hole. Another concern is the relatively weak middle order.
