MHADA said these facilities are being offered to make flats comparable to those being offered by private developers.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced that it is ready with 4,000 affordable homes that will be up for sale in March 2023 through a lottery.

For the first time in MHADA’s history, it has announced that its projects ahead will include a host of homebuyer-friendly amenities including swimming pools, gyms, clubhouses, yoga centers and balconies. monocontrol Reported.

These flats are available for those who buy Middle Income Group (MIG) and High Income Group (HIG) apartments.

Along with this, all new projects of MHADA will include solar panels and parking for Electric Vehicles (EVs), the report said.

As per reports, MHADA said that around 65 per cent of the houses in the upcoming lottery will be for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG).

Of the approximately 4,000 units up for sale, at least 2,600 will be for these two categories.

These facilities are being offered to bring MHADA flats at par with those offered by private developers.

Meanwhile, MHADA has also announced that it has decided to waive off the last EMI of the beneficiaries of its affordable housing scheme at Kalyan in Thane district.

These houses are located in Khoni and Shirdhon and the 2000-odd beneficiaries were facing financial problems mainly due to delay in possession due to coronavirus-induced lockdown as well as other reasons, the news agency PTI Reported.

This decision will cumulatively save Rs 32 crore to these beneficiaries.

As per the information available on its website, MHADA has over seven lakh houses in the state of Maharashtra, including two lakh houses in Mumbai alone.
