Available on watches running Wear OS 3, users will no longer need their phone to stay connected, and can reply to friends and family using their voice, emoji, quick replies or text.

“We look forward to bringing WhatsApp to even more devices in the future,” the company said.

Users will also be able to respond with voice messages, emoji, regular text and quick replies.

If they have an LTE-enabled Wear OS 3 watch, they’ll be able to respond to messages even without a smartphone nearby.

According to reports, the release of the Wear OS app is now setting the pace for the Samsung ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event next week, besides making Wear OS more attractive to the billions of WhatsApp active users.
