Messenger gets encryption on more features
Messenger began testing e2e last year and is gradually rolling out to users in select markets.
Meta has introduced new features that will be compatible with the Messenger platform’s end-to-end encryption standard. Messenger got the security layer earlier but its feature set has been limited for a long time. But that now changes with Meta announcing new features that will operate in end-to-end encryption mode.
Messenger works outside the main Facebook app and users can use their existing IDs to log in, even if they don’t have an active Facebook Page. Messenger with E2E now supports the following features:
– Chat Themes
– Chat emoji and reactions
– link preview
– status indicator
You could say that all these features have become standard in most messaging platforms (including META-owned apps), but Messenger didn’t give you these tools when chatting in e2e mode.

Link preview is another useful addition to e2e security viewing and so is the status indicator which shows other people when you are online or away from the app.
Meta began testing e2e on Messenger in August last year and has slowly made its way to end users, but even now, there are many people who don’t have the option to chat securely on the Meta-owned platform. Is. The company has assured that the roll out is continuing and people will be informed that e2e will be compatible with their Messenger accounts in the coming months.
Other meta products are also under development. Instagram has got a new Quiet Mode for users that allows them to stay away from the screen and snooze all notifications. WhatsApp will soon allow users to share photos in their original quality and report on the other person’s WhatsApp status.
