Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ launch tomorrow: Expected price, features of the electric super sedan! – Times of India

Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ all-electric sedan in the country on August 24. The model will set a new benchmark in the super-luxury sedan segment as it is essentially longer, wider and faster than the outgoing S-Class model from the automaker. The EQS 53 4MATIC+ will be the first AMG-based performance EV to be launched in the country. Here is a look at the 2022 EQS’s features, specifications and expected prices.
Exterior:
The AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ will feature a sleek coupe silhouette that will be complemented by a blacked-out paint job. It will feature all LED lighting with a DRL that stretches from one end to the other. Being an EV, the EQS will also sport a unique design for the grille area with a large Mercedes-Benz logo in the centre and chrome inserts. At the rear, the AMG EQS will again feature lighting elements stretching from one end to the other. The rear brake lights will also form a curved 3D helix. It is also expected to be offered with up to 22-inch AMG alloy wheel options.

The debut of the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen:
The 2022 EQS will also be the first Mercedes-Benz to debut the 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that merges three separate OLED displays into one curved piece of Gorilla Glass and looks like it is floating over the dashboard. It is powered by 8 CPU cores and has 24 GB of RAM. It also features haptic feedback with the help of twelve actuators hidden under the touchscreen. The three displays integrated into the Hyperscreen measure 12.3-inch, 17.7-inch and 12.3-inch respectively.

Battery and Power:
The EQS 53 4MATIC+ will feature a 108kWh battery pack that generates 484kW of power or 658 hp and 950 Nm of torque. Catapulting the EQS from 0-100 kmph in 3.8 seconds and also giving it a top speed of 220 kmph. Power is delivered by dual asynchronous motors.
Range and charging:
Despite offering all that performance, the 2022 AMG EQS has been rated to return a range of 541 to 576 km on a full charge. It supports fast-charging of up to 200kW that can charge the EQS from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes. However, a typical 7.4kW home charger will take 15 hours and 30 minutes to give a 100 percent charge.

Price?:
The 2022 Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is expected to be launched at an introductory price upwards of Rs 2 crore. It goes up against the likes of the Tesla Model S and Plaid in international markets but there will not be anything like the EQS in the Indian market for now.
