Meet the Good Samaritan teacher from Kota teaching 150 kids

New Delhi: The pandemic has brought grief and despair to the families who have lost their loved ones in the fight against the deadly disease. It is also true that many people have come forward to support such families and children in this difficult time, and one such Samaritan is Shashi Prakash Singh.

A teacher from Kota, Rajasthan has proved to be a ray of hope for many destitute children who have lost an important earning member of their family. Till now, Singh has helped over 150 children to continue their studies and aims to support as many children as possible to ensure their bright future.

Shashi Prakash Singh, who belongs to a farmer family, is originally from Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. While talking to ABP News, Singh said, “I belong to a farmer family and my parents had struggled a lot for my studies. I understand the problems of such children, and hence I am helping such children as much as possible.” I’ll keep helping.”

Singh has been teaching chemistry in reputed institutes of the country for nearly 14 years. He is popularly known as SPS Sir among children. Singh has taught the subject in several institutes that prepare students for competitive exams like NEET. Many of his students have become doctors and are serving the country.

Singh, who lost his mother to Corona, took this pledge a few months after her death to help underprivileged children. Singh said, “A few months back my mother got infected with corona. She had to struggle a lot before being admitted to the hospital. It was her students at the time of crisis. I started this initiative after my mother’s death. Till then now I have spent Rs.21 lakh from my savings for this purpose.

With the support of family and friends, Shashi Prakash Singh aims to provide education this year to at least 2,021 children whose breadwinners have passed away due to COVID-19. He is providing support to the children from class 1 to graduation and post graduation level.
