MEA says India’s covid vaccination certificate has been recognized in five more countries

Earlier, the Health Ministry said that India has signed agreements with 11 countries, including the UK, France and Germany, for mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccines recognized at the national level or by WHO, and all the incoming and outgoing vaccines from these countries. All vaccinated passengers will be allowed to leave the airport. There is no need for home quarantine and testing.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Monday that India’s COVID-19 vaccination certificate has been recognized in five more countries.

“Five more validations for India’s vaccination certificates, including those from Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, State of Palestine, Mauritius and Mongolia,” Bagchi said on Twitter.

Last month, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had informed that Hungary and Serbia had agreed for mutual recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates to India.

The ministry said that these new rules supersede all the guidelines issued on the subject on and after February 17, 2021.

List of countries with which the government has entered into an agreement for mutual recognition immunization certificates for persons fully immunized with a nationally recognized or WHO-recognized COVID-19 vaccine and which provide Indian citizens with a national level The UK, France, Germany, Nepal, Belarus, Lebanon, Armenia, Ukraine, Belgium, Hungary and Serbia are completely exempt from vaccines that are approved by or from WHO.

If passengers are fully vaccinated and are coming from a country with which India has reciprocal arrangements for mutual acceptance of WHO approved COVID-19 vaccines, they will be allowed to leave the airport as per the revised guidelines and they will not be required to undergo home quarantine and testing.

However, they will be required to submit a negative RT-PCR report.
