Thane: Municipal Corporation is here 24×7. working towards organizing COVID-19 Vaccination campaign in the coming days: Mayor Naresh Mhaske.
Speaking to TOI, Mhaske informed that the Thane civil administration is well equipped with the infrastructure to start immunization round the clock, provided there is a steady supply of vaccines.
“We have delivered around eight lakh jobs in the last seven months and have covered most of the health and front line workers. There is a plan to introduce round the clock vaccination in Thane city.
A senior health department official confirmed that they have enough manpower and they will have to reorganize the bus shifts to ensure continuous vaccination.
Congress Informed officials that leader Sanjay Ghadigaonkar had made a request to the administration recently, but it was being considered.
It is learned that due to insufficient stock of vaccines at present around 54 centers are distributing vaccines in different parts of the city for a maximum of four hours.
“We have the capacity to do 15000 vaccinations per day, but due to non-availability of vaccines we are distributing 6500 on an average at present,” the official said.
