BSP chief Mayawati held a meeting with senior party functionaries from Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand here on Sunday to motivate party workers ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party said in a statement.

On political developments in Jammu and Kashmir, Mayawati said that instead of development, peace, stability and assembly elections from the Centre, media headlines are dominated by corruption and misuse of power.

“Even though all political activities there are in a coma, the people of Jammu and Kashmir should devote all their attention to the political developments. The party should be fully prepared as there can be elections any time.

Referring to the victory of the Congress in Himachal Pradesh, the Bahujan Samaj Party chief said that the change of government there proves that the common people are not passive about their problems. BSP should remove the shortcomings there and try to move forward.

Referring to the ongoing power tussle between the Center and the Delhi government, Mayawati said, “The mutual mistrust, non-cooperation and confrontation between the Center and the Delhi government has affected the general public… The endless confrontation between the two is sad.” ‘ “Confrontation between two governments and repeated intervention of the Supreme Court. How can this be a good example of cooperative federalism?” He asked.

The Dalit leader said that people were already disappointed with Congress and BJP and now they are getting disappointed with the AAP government in Delhi.

He said that people across the country are troubled by rising inflation, poverty, unemployment, poor education and health facilities, but the BJP government is not paying any attention to them.

The politician said that it is a good sign that people are now showing some degree of anger against all these issues in elections.

He said that people are now waking up to empty rhetoric, electoral concessions and excessive use of religion by political parties and soon the course of country’s politics will change which will give BSP a chance to fight elections on a level playing field. Field.
