Center vs SC Collegium: Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday said it is a “matter of grave concern” that parts of sensitive reports of the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing have been put in the public domain by the Supreme Court collegium.

He said that intelligence agency officers work in secret for the country and they would “think twice” in future if their reports were made public.

He was replying to questions on some of the recent resolutions of the Supreme Court Collegium, including the IB and RAW reports made public last week on some of the names recommended by the apex court for appointment as high court judges.

The collegium had reiterated the names to the government earlier this month, rejecting the intelligence inputs.

“The disclosure of sensitive or confidential reports of RAW and IB is a matter of serious concern, to which I will respond at an appropriate time,” Rijiju told reporters at a law ministry event.
