Maharashtra, West Bengal and Delhi announced on Thursday that states would not restrict large gatherings, and other containment restrictions would be lifted. Here are more details:

Delhi

Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMAOfficial sources on Thursday decided that in view of a significant drop in the number of fresh COVID-19 cases in the national capital, there will be no penalty for not wearing face masks in public places.

The restrictions were rolled back in March 2020, nearly two years after the pandemic hit. In a notification, the government, however, emphasized the use of masks and hygiene maintenance.

“Accordingly, it is hereby notified that by the aforesaid orders, the restrictions currently in force are withdrawn. However, the advisory with respect to health and hygiene protocols including wearing of masks, hand hygiene and sanitization of public places at all times shall be strictly enforced.” Will be observed till further orders,” it said.

Maharashtra
