Maruti Suzuki Swift, WagonR, Dzire get expensive, prices INCREASED by 1.1 per cent

Maruti Suzuki India on Monday announced a 1.1 per cent price hike across its entire range of vehicles. After increasing the prices in April 2022, the automaker is now doing it once again during the current financial year. The firm had announced in December last year that it would increase car prices to counteract the effects of rising costs and plans to upgrade the model range to comply with stricter emission norms that will come into effect in April 2023.

Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing, “The estimated weighted average of the model increase is approximately 1.1 per cent. This indicative figure is calculated using ex-showroom prices of the model in Delhi and is applicable from January 16, 2023.” Will be.”

The company sells a wide range of vehicles from entry-level small car Alto to SUV Grand Vitara, priced between Rs 3.39 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Models like the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Celerio, Baleno, and many more fill the gap between the two.

Some of these models are also on the list of best selling models consistently. However, even after this, the company ended the year 2022 with a decline in sales while maintaining its top position in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki reported total wholesale sales to decline by 9 per cent to 1,39,347 units in December 2022.

Meanwhile, the Indian automaker unveiled the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Edition in India. The company plans to launch the SUV in India; If rumors are to be believed, the off-roader SUV will be launched by February 2023. Apart from this, the company is also planning to enter the electric vehicle market. Taking the first step in this direction, the company unveiled the Maruti Suzuki EVX Concept electric vehicle in India.
