Maruti Suzuki India will be launching the new five-door Jimny in India tomorrow. The off-roader SUV made its global debut at the Auto Expo 2023 and has since caught the attention of SUV enthusiasts. After so much waiting, the company is finally ready to decide the price of the car. Competing against the Mahindra Thar, the Indian automaker expects the new SUV to be a game changer for them. Considering the overseas sales of 3.2 million units registered by the model, it is likely that the model will meet the expectations of the OEMs.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Design
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be sold through NEXA outlets in India and will join brands like Grand Vitara and Brezza to expand the company’s SUV lineup. With its boxy and off-road focused aesthetics, the SUV measures 3,985 mm in length, 16,445 mm in width and 1,720 mm in height. Apart from this, it gets 208 liters of boot space which can be expanded up to 332 liters.

The off-roader SUV will be offered in India in two trims, including Zeta and Alpha. Adding to this, the company offers 7 color options, which include Pearl Arctic White, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red, Kinetic Yellow with Bluish Black Roof, Sizzling Red with Bluish Black Roof, Nexa Blue and Granite Grey.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Features
The Jimny will come with a host of features including a 7.0-inch touchscreen, SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, 4-speaker audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear defogger, color MID display and power windows.
Similarly, in terms of safety features, Maruti Suzuki offers limited-slip differential, hill hold assist, hill descent control, brake assist, rearview camera and speed alert.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Powertrain
Maruti Suzuki will only offer a petrol engine for the Jimny SUV’s powertrain. K15B petrol engine with idle start-stop button and 104.8 PS at 6000 rpm will power it. The maximum torque is 134.2 Nm at 4000 rpm. With this engine, this car gives a mileage of 16.39 kmpl. To carry the fuel, the car has a 40 liter fuel tank.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Expected Price
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is expected to be placed in the Rs 10-15 lakh price bracket in the Indian market considering its competition in India. Notably, the SUV competes against models like the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha.
