Maruti Suzuki exports over 2 lakh units in 2021; Highest ever in a calendar year – Times of India

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India On Monday, it said it shipped more than two lakh vehicles to various markets around the world in 2021, the most in a calendar year.
The country’s largest carmaker said in a statement that the company exported 2,05,450 vehicles in 2021.
This is the highest ever export figure by the company in any calendar year.
“This milestone reflects the confidence of customers around the world in the quality, technology, reliability, performance and cost-effectiveness of our cars. We thank our parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, and their distributors in global markets for their access and support. Thank you, especially at such challenging times,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India.
He added that the company is committed to living up to the trust of global customers and will continue to delight them.
The company currently exports around 15 models, including the recently added Jimny, Suzuki’s compact off-roader and the all-new Celerio.
The top five export models in 2021 were Baleno, DZire, Swift, S-Presso and Brezza.
Maruti Suzuki began exporting its vehicles with the first major consignment to Hungary in 1986-87.
Currently, the company exports to over 100 countries globally. Till date, the automaker has exported over 21.85 lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki vehicles are popular with global customers in Latin America, ASEAN, Africa, Middle East and neighboring regions.
