Marathi actress Akshaya Naik has enjoyed acting stints in the projects Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke before making her name count with serial Sundara Manamadhe Bharli. Besides her impeccable acting skills, Akshaya has also left the audience enthralled with her fashion sense. She recently shared her photo wearing a red embroidered bridal lehenga on Instagram.

2023 was one of the best years for Akshaya on the professional front as she won the Inspiring Female Character award by Colors Marathi. The Marathi actress had expressed her happiness by sharing a post on Instagram. She started the post by writing, “Be the main character of your own life. YOUR REAL LIFE.” Akshaya also wrote that she had been conscious of her weight ever since she wanted to be an actress. The 28-year-old actress felt that she would be shown on the silver screen just as a side character. According to her, overweight actors have been shown in the daily soaps as people who are ridiculed for their size.
Akshaya felt happy that she could end these preconceived notions with her work in Sundara Manamadhe Bharali. She plays the lead role of a happy-go-lucky girl named Latika in this serial who faces a lot of rejection due to her weight. But her life changed after meeting Abhimanyu (Sameer Paranjape), a fitness enthusiast. Sameer was replaced by actor Kunal Dhumal in the show.
Apart from Sundara Manamadhe Bharali, Akshaya has also played an important role in the short film Fit India, directed by Rajeev Barnwal.
