Sarangi questioned that if a former MLA can be easily targeted then what chance do common people have.
He said such attacks are not new in the state, so what was the local police doing when a former MLA was invited to attend a school function in the Maoist-affected area? Sarangi said this showed the gross negligence of the police force and the intelligence department, which had no clue of any such possible attack. He condoled the death of two bodyguards in the attack and demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident.
