Manushi Chhillar shared her thoughts on the 30-year age gap with Akshay Kumar in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Manushi Chhillar’s fourth film was ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, released on April 11, 2024. This movie marked her second collaboration with Akshay after ‘Samrat Prithviraj’. In a recent interview, Manushi addressed the social media discussions about the age gap between her and Akshay.

Regarding the debate on social media about their age difference, Manushi mentioned, “Working with a superstar is good. You get a certain amount of visibility. If I talk about my first film, there was an age gap. They wanted to play the whole thing. In this film, there was no pairing. We did songs for marketing. There had to be a way to put two people together for the songs, but that’s pretty much it, which is fine. I don’t see it as something that was atrocious or something that shouldn’t have been there. It wasn’t like a love story anyway.”

Manushi, who won the Miss World title in 2017, hails from Rohtak. Before entering beauty pageants, she was studying for an MBBS degree at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat. She is also skilled in the art of Kuchipudi dance.

Following her debut in ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, she appeared in ‘The Great Indian Family’ directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, where she acted alongside Vicky Kaushal in a social comedy-drama.

In Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘BMCM’, Manushi portrayed the character of Captain Misha. The film, starring Akshay and Tiger, also featured Alaya F, Sonakshi Sinha, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ronit Roy, and others in vital roles. Her upcoming project is in Pawan Gopalan’s political action-thriller ‘Tehran’, where she stars alongside John Abraham and Neeru Bajwa in key roles.

In Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Captain Firoz aka Freddy and Tiger Shroff plays Captain Rakesh aka Rocky. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of the villain Kabir. The action entertainer also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Alaya F in pivotal roles.

The film had a long weekend after releasing on Thursday, April 11, due to Eid al-Fitr. The film collected Rs 15.65 crore on the first day. On Friday, the second day, the film collected Rs 7.6 crore and even more on Saturday and Sunday at Rs 8.5 crore and Rs 9 crore respectively. Tiger Shroff’s Akshay Kumar suffered a significant drop on the first Monday, collecting just Rs 2.5 crore. After eight days at the box office, the film has finally collected more than Rs 50 crore. According to Sacnilk statistics, the current amount is Rs 51.40 crore.
