New Delhi: Amid a steady rise in the number of coronavirus cases across the country, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a virtual meeting with the health ministers of five states and one union territory on Monday to review the COVID situation.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday, 1,59,632 new cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, which is the highest in the last 224 days. The number of active patients in the country increased to 5,90,611 on Sunday, which is the highest in about 197 days. After the death of 327 people in the last 24 hours, the number of Kovid in the country has also increased to 4,83,790. Earlier on May 29 last year, 1,65,553 cases were reported.
With the fresh infections, the number of omicrons in the country rose to 3,623, of which 1,409 people have either migrated out of the country or have been cured.
