Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with irregularities in the excise policy, will be produced before the special CBI court at Rouse Avenue on Monday. He was arrested by the CBI after eight hours of questioning in connection with the now defunct liquor policy in Delhi. Terming the arrest of party leader Sisodia as “the pinnacle of dictatorship” and a “black day for democracy”, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said it would hit the streets across the country against Sisodia’s arrest. The party said that the BJP carried out the arrest due to political vendetta and said that God will not forgive Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who arrived at Sisodia’s residence here along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, said that AAP will take responsibility of his deputy’s family. “Bhagwant Mann and I met Manish Sisodia’s wife, who is suffering from multiple sclerosis, and assured her that we will take care of them (Sisodia’s family). We told her not to worry as her husband is innocent and will Fighting for the country,” Kejriwal said.
