Employees of Manipur government will not be paid if they do not return to work. The state government has decided to implement the “no work, no pay” rule for its employees who are not coming to office. In the wake of incidents of violence, many employees are not going to their offices in the hill state. There are one lakh employees in the Manipur government.

The General Administration Department (GAD) has been asked to submit details of employees who are unable to attend their official work due to the prevailing situation in the state.

“In pursuance of the decision taken in Para 5-(12) of the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister on 12th June, it is informed to all the employees drawing their salaries from the General Administration Department, Manipur Secretariat that No Work, No A circular issued by GAD Secretary Michael Achom on Monday night said, “To all employees who do not report for their official duties without authorized leave.”

The circular also asked all administrative secretaries to submit details of employees who could not attend their official duties due to the prevailing situation in the state, including designation, name, EIN, present address, to the General Administration Department. be given to And send it to the Personnel Department by June 28 so that appropriate necessary action can be taken.

More than 100 people have lost their lives so far in caste violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities in the northeastern state.

The clashes first broke out on May 3 after a ‘tribal solidarity march’ was organized in the hill districts to protest against the Meitei community’s demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.

The Meiteis constitute about 53 per cent of Manipur’s population and live mostly in the Imphal Valley. The tribals – the Nagas and the Kukis – form 40 per cent of the population and live in the hill districts.
