Till now, around 20,000 citizens have been evacuated from the affected areas in the state.
The Indian Army said that amid continuing clashes and violence in Manipur, around 11,500 people have been moved to safety in Army and Assam Rifles premises, where they were provided accommodation.
Around 1,000 people were also evacuated on Friday and given shelter in Assam’s Cachar district, even as rescue operations continue in sensitive areas.

“More than 1,000 people from Manipur have entered Cachar district of Assam after the Manipur situation. They have taken shelter in different parts of the district,” Cachar district SP Numal Mahatta told the news agency Year.
“We have made all arrangements for them in some schools and other places. We are monitoring the situation. Assam Rifles, CRPF have also supported us.”
Police said that the Cachar district administration has made all arrangements for the people and is providing them facilities of food, drinking water etc. Local people are also helping in these things.
